Introduction

Let's rewind the time. Boîte à rythme dates back centuries, to the tabla bols used in North Indian music that were used to imitate the tabla drums. Other forms of vocal percussion have evolved since then, including the intentionally raspy vocal quality used in African spiritual music to the scatting and bass hums in jazz and blues music. Today this game of beats has become more widespread in mainstream culture, and Eutopia is honoring it by organizing Beat It. An event dedicated to the Boîte à rythme community, designed to give you a life time opportunity to conquer the stage with your beats and showcase an electrifying performance. Let the beats drop...

Rules

  • This is a solo event(schools and colleges inclusive). First, there will be an elimination round of 90 secs where the participants will be given a chance to showcase their Boîte à rythme skills. The top 8 participants will be selected from the elimination round and they will perform a 1 v/s 1 battle. This is the quarter finals round. Next, the top 4 participants will be selected from the quarter finals round and they will perform a 1 v/s 1 battle. This will be the semi-finals round. Lastly, the top 2 participants from the semi finals will be selected to perform a final 1v/s 1 battle. The winner will be chosen out of this round. **The total number of selected participants for the battle might increase, depending on the total participants. The participants will be judged accordingly by the judges on the basis of these areas: Originality Flow Structure Modularity Technicality

  • Instructions:

  • Each participant will be given a time of maximum 90 seconds to perform their original composition (elimination round)
  • Each participant will be given a maximum time of 60 seconds (2 rounds each) in the battles (Top 8 & Top 4)
  • For the final round (Top 2), each participant will be given a maximum time of 90 seconds (2 rounds each) in the battle.
  • The judges’ decision is final.
